What is Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy (OT) is a science-based, person-centred approach that helps people take part in meaningful everyday activities, from self-care and work to rest and social connection. It’s particularly valuable for those managing physical, mental, or emotional challenges.

Occupational Therapists take a holistic view, working with each person to identify barriers and create personalised strategies to overcome them. This might involve pacing, skill-building, adaptive equipment, emotional support, or environmental changes, all designed to improve confidence, independence, and quality of life.

Our OTs are degree-qualified and HCPC-registered professionals with experience across physical and cognitive rehabilitation, mental health, and chronic fatigue management. At Harmony Health Wellbeing CIC, we bring this clinical expertise into natural, community spaces where real-life recovery can happen.

Whether supporting someone to regain mobility, manage fatigue, or find balance in daily life, we use the principles of occupational therapy to empower people to live with purpose and wellbeing.

At Harmony Health Wellbeing CIC, our vision is to create Health in Harmony, where nature meets wellbeing.

We know that wellbeing is not just about treating illness, but about finding balance physically, emotionally, and socially.

By combining Occupational Therapy with nature-based wellbeing sessions and community connection, we help people build confidence, manage long-term conditions, and feel supported.

Health in Harmony means bringing therapies, creativity, and nature together to nurture the whole person, empowering individuals to thrive in a balanced and supportive environment.

Nature-based Occupational Therapy blends clinical expertise with the therapeutic benefits of the outdoors. Nature supports regulation, focus, and connection, making it a powerful setting for meaningful, functional therapy.

At Harmony Health Wellbeing CIC, we take therapy beyond the clinic, using natural spaces to empower recovery, build confidence, and support daily life skills in an inclusive, calming environment.

Evidence Based Practice

Nature-based occupational therapy is rooted in evidence showing that green spaces support physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. Meaningful outdoor activities like gardening reduce stress, improve motivation, and enhance social connection. Therapists use nature to support sensory regulation, fatigue management, and recovery, offering holistic, person-centred care grounded in clinical practice.
