About Us

Harmony Health Wellbeing CIC is a Community Interest Company (CIC) based in Lancaster, created to make health and wellbeing support more accessible, inclusive and rooted in nature

Harmony Health Wellbeing CIC is a not-for-profit organisation led by a team of four directors, including two qualified Occupational Therapists. We reinvest all income into our services to support people living with long-term conditions, mental health challenges, neurodiversity, and isolation.

We provide nature-based therapy, one-to-one OT assessments, group wellbeing sessions, and sound baths in green spaces, community gardens, and woodlands. Our approach is evidence-based, person-centred, and grounded in clinical expertise, offered outside traditional healthcare settings to improve access and impact.

We also offer online OT assessments and ME/CFS interventions to ensure accessibility for those unable to travel.

By working in nature, we help individuals build confidence, reduce stress, and reconnect with their communities. Every donation, grant, or paid session helps us grow a more sustainable, compassionate model of care, working alongside, not instead of, the NHS

Why Choose Harmony Health

We take a person-centred and holistic approach, focusing on what matters most to you. Rather than just looking at a diagnosis, we explore your strengths, routines, values, and goals to understand how we can best support your everyday life. Our interventions are collaborative and practical, giving you the tools, strategies, and confidence to do more of the things that are important to you, often using natural and sustainable resources as part of the therapeutic process.

Rooted in People Grounded in Nature

At Harmony Health Wellbeing, we are proudly person-centred. Everything we do is guided by the individual, not targets or tick boxes. We believe in meaningful support, real connection, and meeting people where they are.

During our training, we completed a Role Emerging Placement in the community. It showed us that Occupational Therapy doesn’t have to live in hospital corridors,  in fact, it didn’t start there. We are taking OT back to its roots where it first began, supporting people through activities such as arts, crafts and gardening. That’s the vision we want to bring back.

While the NHS plays a vital role, we know first-hand how overstretched services can be. Many people are discharged before they feel ready, or left waiting months for help.

And why nature? Because nature heals.

Time spent outdoors has proven benefits, from reducing anxiety and stress, to improving physical and emotional wellbeing. One study found that “just 120 minutes a week in nature significantly boosts health and wellbeing” (White et al., 2019). We see this every day through our work.

We’re here to bridge the gap, support recovery, and return OT to its roots,  in the heart of the community.

Our Supporters

We are proud to be supported by local businesses who share our vision for community wellbeing. Lancaster Brewery and GB Antiques are valued sponsors of Harmony Health Wellbeing CIC. Their generous backing helps us to grow our nature-based services and reach more individuals in need of support. These partnerships reflect a shared commitment to creating a healthier, more connected Lancaster, and we’re incredibly grateful for their ongoing encouragement and belief in what we do
